Abstract
This study aims to explore the use of the hashtags #GibranMembuktikan and #GibranGakAdaAdab in shaping political narratives and mobilizing both support and resistance toward a vice presidential candidate during Indonesia’s 2024 presidential election campaign. The researcher employed the Social Network Analysis (SNA) method to examine the structure and dynamics of social networks on Twitter that emerged around the two hashtags. The findings reveal that #GibranMembuktikan formed a small, centralized, and cohesive network, driven by a few key actors. In contrast, #GibranGakAdaAdab reflected a broader and more fragmented network, where criticism was disseminated more evenly by multiple independent actors. These findings suggest that the form and structure of social media networks play a critical role in determining the direction and intensity of political opinion dissemination. Centralized networks facilitate more controlled support mobilization, while fragmented networks reflect a more fluid and distributed dynamic of political opposition. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on digital political mobilization and reinforces the relevance of the Digital Movement of Opinion (DMO) theory in understanding public opinion formation in social media-driven political campaigns.
